What Is Google Plus (Google +) ?

There has been the promise of an innovative Social Search Engine since the day that Matt Cutts announced Google Caffeine back in 2008. Internet professionals have been eagerly waiting for this “Social Search Engine” to become a reality by following suit as Matt Cutts introduced the next products – Google Profile, Google Wave, Google Buzz – as their next innovative products. Google Profiles was exciting as it meant we were on our way towards that social search goal; Google Wave was one most lost interest in unless for team usage; Google Buzz ended up a disappointment to the point that many did not start using their Plus accounts until there was rumor that Google + would contribute to their overall search engine rankings. Whether this is true or not is best left for another blog post, but one has to presume that Google is making such changes for a reason that is relative to your success in their search engine.

Google Plus (Google +) is a new addition to their suite of product. As with any new web trend, Google users are still catching on to Google Plus and it is possible that you will see this little Google + icon all over the Internet as the program continues to unravel. The reality that the buzz is circulating amoung Google users because they have immediate access to it where avid AOL, Yahoo, Bing users are not as likely to know what the little +1 button means nor inclinded to follow through after clicking because they do not have Google or Gmail accounts.
